Successful PhD Defense – Ken Iiyoshi

Ken iiyoshi successfully defended his PhD thesis at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering, NY entitled “Soft Actuator Design Workflow: An Origami and Nanoparticle-Polymer-based Untethered Meso-scale Applications”. He defended his thesis on August 8th 2025 with the presence of the committee members: Prof. Anthony Tzes, Prof. Giuseppe Loianno, and his adviser Prof. Mohamad Eid.

Starting from this Fall, he will be joining NYU’s Office of the Provost as an innovation postdoc in-residence for two years. Funded by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, he will continue his soft robotics work in both NYU New York and the newly established NYU Tulsa. Congratulations to Ken iiyoshi! We wish him continued success and best wishes for his future endeavors.
